Our brain works 24/7; even while we are sleeping. It is processing sounds around us, dealing with stressors, is processing messages we receive. It is always “on”; it never takes a break. For me, one of the hardest things I struggle to learn is to mediate. It is difficult for me because I need to put some effort into staying and focusing my thoughts on only one thing. And if this is difficult, what about doing nothing? Boredom has a reputation for being a negative state of mind due to cultural pressure (productivity is a must, right?) and due to a lack of experience of being with ourselves alone. But neuroscientists say that boredom facilitates creativity, gives us time to process, and improves self-control. I need to do these

I felt that I grew up in the moment when I understood my needs and I started to satisfy them more than thinking to the others. It is not a matter of age, but it depends on the experiences you have, the people you meet, and the lessons you get. Even if you might feel the pressure of fitting in some templates, there are some things that I need to do on my own. I’m still getting used to this, but until now I learned: It is not worthy to have the final word - this doesn’t show that I am smarter than the other person. And not everything needs a reaction from my side. It’s ok to say no. For some people you can justify this; for others, you don’t need to do this. People who judge you for this refusal might be people for whom your well-being counts less than theirs. It doesn't matter who is guilty of this, but it is better to understand what can we take from this and what are our next steps. Forgiveness is good first for ourselves, not for the others.
