- Stop all the notifications from your phone - they distract your attention when you are doing something
- Don’t keep the internet always on - this will make you open by reflex the social media apps you have on your phone
- Use a hand watch instead of checking the hour on your phone
- Delete the applications that give dependency or, at least, hide them from the main screen
- Setup a clear intention when you take the phone and put the phone away after you end that action
- Set a time limit for the time spent on the phone during a day
- If possible, use the desktop applications instead of the mobiles ones
- Find some alternatives to the morning alarm to avoid using your phone (who remembers that radio station that has an alarm system that can be set up?)
- Don’t charge your phone near your bad (this affects also your health) or in your proximity
- Try a day without a phone - at least on your holidays
- Go out without your phone - I did this once by mistake and my family got panicked that something happened to me
- When you meet a friend, put your phone away
- Plan free-time activities that don’t involve technology
- Watch reality shows with people who don’t have access to their phones (like Survival or America Express) to see how people spend their time
These are some things I used to do or, at least, I want to do on my own.
What about you? What have you done and it has some results? I would like to know your ideas in the comments.
